Issue templates

Reuse Issue descriptions, properties, and sub-issues, or collect answers with a form.

A template is a saved starting point for a new Issue. Use one to keep routine work consistent or help someone give your Team the information it needs.

Choose a kind

A Standard template fills in an Issue title, description, default properties, and optional sub-issues. You can edit these before creating the Issue. A Form template asks questions in a set order and turns the answers into the Issue description or its properties.

Both kinds can include up to 25 direct sub-issues. Templates apply when creating an Issue; editing a template leaves existing Issues unchanged.

Choose a scope

Workspace templates are available across Teams. Workspace owners and admins manage them in Workspace Settings → Issue templates.

Team templates belong to one Team. People with that Team's settings management access manage them in Team Settings → Templates. Read access or Team membership alone does not grant template management.

Sub-teams can use templates inherited from parent Teams they can access. The sub-team's settings list names the parent Team and shows these templates read-only. Edit them in the parent Team's settings. Templates never grant access to a private Team or its Issues.

A Team can choose separate defaults for members and non-members. The member default must be Standard; the non-member default can be Standard or Form. A creator can switch or clear either default.

Use templates with agents

Integrity AI and connected agents can list templates available to a Team, read their descriptions and form questions, and create Issues from them. Ask the agent to read the available templates first, then name the Team, template, and answers you want to use. Required questions apply to agents too. If a question is missing an answer, the agent must obtain it before creating the Issue.

For example, ask: “Show the Issue templates available to the Support Team, including the questions in each form.” After choosing a form, provide the answers and ask the agent to create the Issue in that Team.

Agents can also prepare template creation, edits, archive, restore, and changes to either Team default. These management actions require your confirmation before they apply. Review the proposed scope, content, and default audience before confirming. The agent uses your permissions; connecting an agent gives it no extra access.

What templates keep

An Issue made from a template keeps a record of the template's identity, name, and kind at creation. Forms also retain their original answer record. You can edit the Issue description afterwards without rewriting that original record. Permanently deleting the Issue removes its template record too.

Creation Activity names the template when it can safely be shown. Template management and Team default changes are recorded in workspace or Team Logs under Templates.

Templates support manual creation and agent use. They do not provide template URLs, integration intake, conditional questions, file-upload fields, formulas, or template-based charts.
