Dashboard
See your own work, or how the whole workspace is doing, on one page
The Dashboard is one page with two views. Me shows the Issues, Projects and Initiatives you are working on and what starts or is due in the next few weeks, so you can decide what to do next. Workspace shows how everyone is doing: the Projects in progress, the open Issues and who holds them. A large clock sits on top, so you can leave the page open while work goes on. Every workspace member has a Dashboard. It is different from Home, the page outside any workspace that lists your workspaces.
Open Dashboard at the top of the sidebar. To open it every time you open the workspace, choose Dashboard as your default home view.
Choose Me or Workspace
The Me and Workspace switch sits under the clock and changes everything below it. Me is the default. Press Tab to reach the switch and use the arrow keys to choose the other view.
The page link keeps your choice: Workspace adds ?scope=workspace, and Me adds
?scope=me. Send someone the link and it opens the same view for them. The
Dashboard also remembers your last choice for each workspace in this browser.
When you open the Dashboard without a view in the link, it opens the view you
remembered and adds it to the link. A view in the link always wins over the
remembered one.
Both views show their parts in the same order: the 14-day calendar under the switch, then the number cards, then the lists.
Me: your own work
Three number cards under the calendar count your items: In progress, Overdue, and Due in 7 days. Select a card to pick out the rows it counts in Working now and Coming up; the other rows fade. Select the card again, or press Esc, to show every row again.
Working now lists the work you have started, in separate groups for Issues, Projects and Initiatives:
| Group | What appears |
|---|---|
| Issues | Issues assigned to you that are in a started status |
| Projects | Projects you lead or are a member of that are in progress |
| Initiatives | Initiatives you own that are active |
Issue rows show status and due date. Project rows show health, progress, target date and lead, with no status or priority cell. An overdue item says how many days late it is.
Coming up lists work that has not started yet but has a date in the next 30 days: assigned Issues with a due date, and Projects with a planned start or target date. Rows are grouped into This week, Next week and Later, following your first day of the week. Each row shows only the item's icon, its title and its date, and says whether that date is when the work starts or when it is due.
Groups with nothing in them are hidden. Select a row to open the Issue, Project or Initiative.
Change an Issue from its row
You can change an Issue's priority, status, Project, labels and due date in Working now without opening it. In Coming up you can change its due date. Select the priority icon, the status icon beside the key, the Project, the labels or the due date, and pick a new value in the same menu the Issue table uses, with the same search and number shortcuts. The status menu offers the statuses of that Issue's own Team. The value dims while it saves and shows the saved result when it is done.
These menus appear only on Issues you can edit; other rows show their values without a menu. When a change moves an Issue to another list or group, such as marking it done or giving it a new date, its row fades out and the Issue is highlighted where it now belongs. Project and Initiative rows cannot be changed from the Dashboard yet.
The next 14 days
The calendar under the switch shows today and the next 13 days, with the number of your overdue items on its left. A hollow marker means something starts that day; a filled marker means something is due. Select a day to highlight the rows with a date on that day; the other rows fade. Select the day again, or press Esc, to show every row again.
Coming soon
The Waiting, Next step and Agents at work cards are not available yet. They show Coming soon in Me and cannot be selected. They do not appear in Workspace.
Workspace: how everyone is doing
The Workspace view shows these parts, in this order. A list with nothing in it is hidden: for example, a workspace with Issues but no Projects in progress shows no Projects part. A workspace with no Projects or Issues to count shows an empty page instead.
The next 14 days is the same calendar as in Me, for the whole workspace: Project start and target dates, Phase target dates and Issue due dates. A hollow marker is a start; a filled marker is a target or due date. The number on its left counts the overdue Issues and Projects. Select a day to see a small list of that day's dates, up to 3 and then +N more; select one to open its Project or Issue. Press Esc to close the list. Choosing a day does not change the parts below it.
Number cards under the calendar count the whole workspace, or the Team you choose:
| Card | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Projects in progress | Active Projects whose status is in the started group. Select the card to open the Projects table. |
| Open Issues | Active Issues that are not done or canceled. Issues waiting in Triage are not counted. |
| Done this week | Issues moved to a done status since the first day of your week, following your first day of the week. |
| Overdue | Two numbers: open Issues with a due date before today, and Projects in progress with a target date before today. |
Only the Projects in progress card opens another page; the other cards are read-only.
Projects in progress lists up to 6 Projects. Projects that are off track come first, then those at risk, then the nearest target date. Each row shows the Project's health, a Phases progress badge, its target date and its lead, in the same row style as Me. An overdue target says how many days late it is. Hover over the lead to see their user card. Select All Projects → to open the Projects table.
Workload shows each person's open Issues, split into In progress and To do. It lists the 8 people with the most open Issues, then No one for Issues without an assignee, then +N more people for everyone else.
Choose a Team
When you can read two or more active Teams, a Team picker appears beside the
switch. All Teams is the default. Choose a Team to show only that Team's
Issues and Projects; the link keeps the Team (?team= and the Team's
identifier), so you can share it. Switching to Me removes the Team from the
link. If a link names a Team that does not exist or that you cannot read, the
Dashboard shows All Teams.
What Workspace counts
Issue numbers, Issue markers and Workload count only Issues in active Teams you can read. An Issue from a private Team that someone shared with you directly still appears in Me, but it is not added to the Workspace numbers.
Projects follow the same rule as the Projects table: every member sees the same Projects there and here, including Projects in a private Team, without that Team's name.
How the Dashboard stays current
While the page is visible, the Dashboard checks for changes once a minute. It loads only the view you have chosen. In Me, a row that changed since the last check is highlighted for a few seconds. A new status keeps the row in its place; a new date or title moves it to where it now belongs in its list. When the tab is hidden it stops checking, and it catches up when you return. After midnight, the dates and groups move to the new day on their own.
The Dashboard shows only work you can open. In Me, an Issue shared with you directly from a private Team shows its private identifier, as it does everywhere else, and the Dashboard never shows the private Team's name.
