Record and recover a meeting

Confirm consent, record through your microphone, and recover safely after a recording interruption.

Recording adds a transcript to an existing Meeting Minute. You can keep writing in Notes while the host records. Recording controls appear only when your current permissions and the Minute's state allow them.

Understand the microphone-only limit

Integrity records your microphone. It hears you and the room within reach of that microphone. It does not capture the computer's audio output or connect to a meeting service.

On a headphone call, the other participants' voices play in your headphones and normally do not reach your microphone. Integrity therefore cannot record their side of the call. Check what the microphone can actually hear before relying on the transcript as a record of everyone who spoke.

Calendar integration, computer audio capture, and export are not available.

Open the Minute and choose Start recording. In Confirm participant consent, confirm that everyone has consented to live transcription and AI-assisted meeting notes. Select I confirm that all participants have consented., then choose Start recording and allow microphone access in your browser if prompted.

Integrity saves your confirmation of consent, not participants' signatures. Confirming consent does not itself generate an AI summary. If microphone access fails, check the browser's permission and selected microphone before trying again; you can continue with written Notes instead.

Pause, resume, and stop

The timer counts microphone-active recording time. Pause releases the microphone and freezes the timer. Resume continues from that duration; paused time is excluded, including across repeated pauses. Other people with access see the recording state but cannot control the host's active recording.

Choose Stop when recording is finished. Integrity saves the captured transcript and automatically prepares the final wording. Processing transcript is separate from generating an AI summary. See Review the transcript before processing the meeting.

Recover an interruption

If the page closes or the recording connection is lost, reopen the same Minute. The saved transcript remains available. Inspect the interruption and gap markers in Transcript to see where capture ended; words spoken during a gap are not recovered automatically. A degraded connection can show Transcript connection interrupted; retrying while Integrity attempts to reconnect.

Use the recovery action Integrity offers for the current recording state:

  • Resume recording recovers the previous host's interrupted recording.
  • Continue recording starts another recording session after the previous host stopped normally.
  • Take over recording lets another eligible host continue once the previous recording is no longer active and its control has expired.

These actions repeat the consent confirmation before opening the microphone. The saved sessions remain part of the same Minute. Do not start a second Minute to recover the first one. If a recovery control is absent, wait for the previous host's control to clear or ask someone who can host the Minute; access to read it does not grant recording control.

Understand temporary audio

Audio is private, temporary material used to prepare the final transcript. It is not a retained attachment or a downloadable recording. Integrity deletes it after processing. If an upload is incomplete or one uninterrupted recording exceeds 24 MB of temporary audio, final transcription cannot use that recording; the saved live draft remains provisional. Pause and Resume separate uninterrupted recordings. After a saving failure, you can Pause and Resume when the connection can save again. The failed part remains incomplete; resuming does not recover missing audio or turn that session into a complete final transcript.

A short, uninterrupted recording from an older open tab can still finalize. If an older recording has uncertain fragment boundaries, Integrity keeps the live draft and temporary audio for the existing retention period. Reopen the page before making future recordings.

Leftover audio from a recording that has ended is scheduled for deletion after 24 hours if it has not already been removed. Once that cleanup removes audio before final transcription, the saved live draft remains and that recording gets no final transcript.

Discard a recording or use Notes only

When available, Discard recording opens a confirmation that lists exactly what will be removed and kept. Recording-derived transcript segments, corrections, speaker mappings, and related generated material can be removed permanently. Read that list before confirming. Human Notes and Issues already created or linked are kept; review retained text that may refer to the removed recording.

If the failed attempt saved no recording-derived content, the action is Use notes only instead. It keeps the failed attempt in history and returns the Minute to Draft so you can work with manual Notes. Discarding a recording is different from archiving a Minute.
