Delete a Workspace
Who can delete a workspace, the 30 days to restore it, what is removed, and what deletion does not reach
A workspace owner can delete a workspace. The workspace closes for everyone at once, and its data is kept for 30 days. During those 30 days any current owner can restore it. After 30 days Integrity removes the workspace's data for good.
Accounts and other workspaces are not affected.
Who can delete a workspace
Only a current owner of the workspace can delete it, signed in to Integrity in a browser.
- Admins and members cannot delete a workspace. They do not see the action.
- Coding agents, the MCP server and the AI Workspace cannot delete or restore a workspace.
- A workspace without an owner cannot be deleted. The setting says that the workspace needs an owner.
Keep a copy first
Before scheduling deletion, export your workspace in Settings → General → Export. The dialog offers this link unless you already started downloading a complete, unexpired export. If an export is being prepared, the dialog warns that deleting stops it. Export never blocks deletion.
An owner reminder also offers the restore-and-export option unless that owner had started downloading a complete export that was unexpired when deletion was scheduled. After restore, stopped exports offer Start again; ready exports keep their original seven-day expiry.
Delete a workspace
Open Settings → Workspace → General, and go to Danger zone.
Select Delete workspace. The dialog names the workspace and says what will be removed.
Type the workspace name exactly as it is shown.
Select Email me a code. Integrity sends an 8-digit code to your account's email address. The code expires after 10 minutes.
Enter the code and select Delete workspace.
You can ask for a new code after 60 seconds. A code stops working after 5 wrong tries, and you can ask for at most 5 codes per workspace in an hour.
What happens when a workspace is scheduled for deletion
The workspace closes for everyone at the same moment:
- Members can no longer open its pages, files or Inbox. A member who opens a link to it sees This workspace is unavailable. Anyone who is not a member sees the normal page-not-found message.
- Coding agents, MCP connections and the AI Workspace can no longer read or change anything in it.
- Background work for the workspace stops, such as imports, exports and meeting processing.
- Every member gets an email and an Inbox notice that the workspace is scheduled for deletion.
- Every owner gets a reminder email 7 days and 24 hours before the deletion deadline.
- The last owner cannot leave the workspace or delete their account until the workspace is restored or deleted.
Items that were deleted before the workspace, such as a deleted Issue, keep their own recovery time. Their clock stops while the workspace is closed.
Restore a workspace
Any current owner can restore the workspace before the deadline.
Open the workspace switcher. The Scheduled for deletion section lists the workspaces you own that are waiting for deletion, with the deadline. It is there also when this is your only workspace.
Select Restore next to the workspace, then Restore workspace.
The workspace opens again for everyone with the same members, content and URL. Every member gets an email and an Inbox notice that the deletion was cancelled, and the remaining reminders are not sent. Deleted items get back the recovery time they had when the workspace was scheduled.
After the deadline the workspace cannot be restored.
What is removed
After the 30 days Integrity removes everything that belongs to the workspace, for all of its members:
- Issues, Projects, Initiatives, Phases, Teams, views, labels, comments and Activity
- documents, attachments and other uploaded files
- Meeting Minutes, including Personal Meeting Minutes, their transcripts and recordings
- AI Workspace conversations, imports and exports
- memberships, invitations, integrations and connection grants of the workspace
Integrity first removes the workspace's records, then deletes its files from storage and checks that each one is gone. If a file cannot be deleted at first, Integrity tries again.
Integrity keeps a minimal record that the workspace existed: its internal id, its URL, who scheduled the deletion and when, and when it was removed. It contains none of the workspace's content.
What deletion does not reach
Deletion removes what Integrity stores. It cannot reach copies outside Integrity.
- Emails already sent, such as notifications, stay in each recipient's mailbox.
- Files already downloaded or exported stay wherever they were saved.
- Backups of the database that were made before the removal still contain the workspace until they expire.
- Connected services keep their own data. Deletion does not revoke tokens or webhooks in outside services, and does not delete copies that those services hold. Disconnect them in the outside service if you no longer want them.
- Accounts are not deleted. Every member keeps their Integrity account and their other workspaces.
Workspace URLs
The URL of a deleted workspace, and every previous URL it had, stays reserved. A new workspace cannot use those URLs.
