Subscriptions and Notifications

Follow Issues and comment threads through Inbox-first notifications and optional Issue activity email.

Issue subscriptions control notification delivery. They do not grant access to the Issue.

Issue subscriptions

Follow an Issue when you want Inbox notifications for meaningful activity across the Issue. Meaningful activity includes comments, replies, mentions, and visible property or lifecycle changes.

Integrity automatically subscribes the Issue creator and current assignee when appropriate. Mentions can also subscribe users after access checks pass.

Actors are not notified about their own action, and reactions do not create notifications.

Thread subscriptions

Thread subscriptions are scoped to one top-level comment thread. Follow or unfollow a thread from the thread controls when you want updates for that discussion without following the whole Issue.

Replying or being mentioned in a thread can affect thread notification state according to the current access-aware rules.

Saved view subscriptions

Saved view subscriptions are scoped to a Team Issue saved view. Follow a saved view when you want Inbox notifications when an Issue enters that view, when a matching Issue is completed or canceled, or both.

Saved view subscriptions do not grant access to the view, Team, or Issue. Integrity checks current access before creating each notification. When the Team route context is still accessible, the notification opens Team Issues with the saved view selected; otherwise it falls back to the canonical Issue link or Inbox-safe copy.

Saved view subscription events are Inbox-only in V1 and are not sent by Issue activity email.

My Issues

Use My Issues -> Subscribed to see active Issues you follow.

Use My Issues -> Activity to see active Issues connected to recent display-safe Activity for you.

Inbox and email

Inbox is the durable queue for Issue activity notifications. The Inbox detail pane can show selected Issue notifications without bypassing access checks.

Deadline notifications are also Inbox-first. When an active Issue is due soon or overdue, Integrity can notify the current assignee and current Issue subscribers who still have access. Email is derived from unread deadline Inbox rows and respects the existing Issue/email notification preference.

Issue activity email is narrower than Inbox:

  • Email is derived from unread Inbox notifications.
  • Due-soon and overdue Issue deadline rows can be emailed when eligible.
  • Mentions and replies to top-level threads you started can be emailed when Issue activity email is enabled.
  • Normal comments, inherited subscription replies, property changes, lifecycle changes, Team moves, saved view subscription events, and reactions stay Inbox-only.
  • Email is skipped when the notification was already read, archived, or handled before delivery.

Configure Issue activity email from account notification settings. Inbox delivery remains on for notifications you are eligible to receive.
