Baselines
Create point-in-time snapshots of your sources for releases and audits.
Baselines are point-in-time snapshots of approved artefacts across one or more sources. They preserve release or audit evidence even when the live Source Library continues to change.
Open Requirements Management -> Baselines from the workspace sidebar.
Browse baselines
The Baselines table shows all baselines by default, with quick scopes for All, Drafts, and Locked. Draft baselines are still work in progress. Locked baselines are immutable evidence snapshots.
Click a baseline to open its dedicated detail page. Older selected-baseline links open the same detail page automatically.
When a baseline includes modules you cannot access, the table still keeps aggregate shape visible. The Modules and Artefacts counts open compact hover breakdowns: modules show visible and restricted totals, draft artefact counts are live previews of visible modules when restricted modules may add more, and locked baseline artefact counts remain captured evidence totals. Restricted module names, artefact identifiers, fields, links, and diffs stay redacted in detail and compare views.
Baseline types
Baseline types are managed in Workspace Settings -> Artefacts -> Baseline types. Types categorize draft and locked baselines, such as Requirements Baseline, Verification Baseline, or Release Baseline.
Admins can create baseline types, edit names and descriptions inline, archive or restore types, and reorder active types when the table is not filtered. Workspace members can read the type list but cannot change it.
Inspect captured artefacts
Locked baseline details open on the captured artefact evidence table. Each row reads from the locked snapshot, not from mutable live Source Library data.
Use the table to compare baseline version, current version, and the Difference state:

| Removed | The captured artefact no longer resolves to an active current artefact. |
| Restricted | The baseline can be inspected, but current permissions limit what can be shown. |
Expand a captured artefact row to inspect the field values, relation values, captured link summary, reviewer flag, and version context saved with the baseline. Opening the live artefact is a secondary action when the current artefact still exists and your access allows it.
Compare to current
Locked baselines include a Compare view that defaults to comparing the selected baseline against current live source state. This helps answer what was added, removed, changed, or left unchanged since the baseline was locked.
The comparison groups drift by source and keeps baseline-side evidence visible even when the current side is deleted, archived, inaccessible, or missing. Existing two-baseline comparison links open the dedicated pair-compare page for release-to-release comparisons.
Reference states in baselines
Baseline detail and comparison views use the same reference status vocabulary as the rest of Integrity:

| In Trash | The live source or artefact is currently in Trash, but can still be restored. |
| Deleted | The live item was permanently deleted; the baseline keeps the historical snapshot data it captured. |
| Restricted | The item exists, but your current permissions do not allow its name, identifier, color, source name, or parent context to be shown. |
| Unknown | Integrity cannot safely resolve the reference from current data or tombstones. |
Locked baseline snapshots remain immutable. Lifecycle badges explain the current state of referenced live items; they do not rewrite the captured baseline evidence.
Creating and locking
Admins create draft baselines, choose sources, review blockers, and lock the baseline when the selected evidence is ready. Once locked, the snapshot is read-only and can be compared with current live state or with another locked baseline.
Reviewers and viewers
Workspace members can inspect locked baselines that they are allowed to see, open captured artefact evidence, and use Compare to understand live drift. Restricted source and artefact references stay redacted, so a baseline can remain useful without exposing content outside a person's access scope.
