Initiative updates
Report Initiative health without replacing child Feature status.
An Initiative update is an authored health report for the Initiative itself. It helps leaders summarize a broader delivery theme while preserving Feature-level detail on the child Features.
Initiative-authored health
Initiative Overview and Initiative tables use the latest Initiative-authored update for health. Child Feature updates do not satisfy the Initiative's own update schedule and do not change the latest Initiative health card.
The Initiative Activity feed includes:
- structured Initiative health update cards
- Initiative subject comments
- update-scoped replies and reactions
- compact planning Activity rows for schedule, Team, status, roadmap, and property changes
Property rows use exact semantic icons or the changed person's avatar for owner and membership events. Status, Teams, Features, dates, schedules, icon color, and labels use event-time display snapshots where available. Label edits are grouped into one row per save, including archived-label deletion with preserved historical name and color.
The visible Activity surface stays Initiative-authored. Child Feature history remains an internal reader capability and is not shown as a user-facing toggle.
Initiative updates use the same compact report formatting as Feature updates:
the Type / for commands placeholder, no permanent formatting toolbar, @
mentions, and a curated / menu for section headings, bulleted and numbered
lists, quotes, and dividers. List markers stay visible during authoring and in
posted updates. Open / and @ menus own Enter so it selects the highlighted
option without posting. After the menu closes, Cmd/Ctrl + Enter posts the
draft; plain Enter continues editing. Full-document blocks remain outside the
Activity feed.
Changed context
Initiative update context can include changed status, Team, owner, labels, dates, and Feature counts. As with Feature updates, context is display-safe and stored with the update at publish time.
Initiative Health answers "how is this Initiative doing?" Feature Health answers "how is this Feature doing?" Integrity keeps those signals separate.
Table health
The Initiative table uses the same compact Health preview pattern as Features. The preview shows the latest Initiative update, stored context rows, comments, reactions, and a route back to the Initiative Activity tab for a new update.
Permissions
Reading follows Initiative visibility. Posting, editing, deleting, and schedule changes require Initiative edit permission. Hidden private Teams and inaccessible child Features are omitted or rendered as display-safe references.
